Lex can’t stand Theo. Theo thinks Lex is a dick. Except one dating app mishap is about to bring them so much closer together.

Theo: I’ve dated every shade of shitty guy imaginable, yet I keep boyfriending them. Mostly because my empty house doesn’t align with the happily-ever-after fantasies I’ve had since I was a kid.

No more. After my last boyfriend cheated on me, I’m flings only, even if temptation dangles my way. And when Lex shows up to fix my wiring issue, he’s pure temptation—at least until he decides to randomly hate my guts. Luckily, the sexy guy I’m talking to on the CoffeeDates app is the perfect chance for a one-night stand—no drama, no betrayal, and most importantly, no boyfriending.

LexI: Avoid rich assholes at all costs. One broken engagement later, I learned they’ll never stick around for blue collar guys like me. Even though Theo flips my switches, the holier-than-thou upper-class attitude is enough that I’m keeping my distance. Until I find out the guy I’ve been falling hard for over the dating app is none other than Theo. All that chemistry between us explodes, and one night turns into another and then another. But he’s not looking for a boyfriend, and I am—and there’s only so long this can last before one of us ends up brokenhearted.

This is the second book in the Hot Under The Collar series and it is as fun as the first. Theo who works in finance, is always finding the wrong partners so is going to do only hook ups. He is a germaphobe, purchased a large older home, tries to be the peacekeeper in his family or friends group, and is lonely. Lex is best friends with Cole since forever. He is an electrician just moved back to town. He has not had the best luck romantically and his ex fiancé is the worst. Theo has lights in his home flickering and Cole suggests Lex take a look. These two mix like oil and water after their first introduction. Since they hang with the same friends group they are always seeing each other. This is their story from enemies to more, it’s steamy and funny.

This was a good book. I enjoyed the hate to like/like to hate the Lex and Theo have with each other. Assumptions are made when these two meet, and it makes for them to fight the chemistry they have. Once these two finally sit down and work their all their issues and are ready to admit that they love each other, these to have a funny yet sweet HEA. I thought Dylan Rockwell did a good join bringing Lex and Theo alive for us.

I received an audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Katherine McIntyre delivers some more 'Hot Under the Collar' greatness in this second book of the series and she turns up the heat, too. This is a fantastic enemies-to-lovers, opposites attract, romance, the story drew me right in and captivated my attention straight to the end. Lex and Theo make assumptions about each based on their own history and experience, assumptions that are completely off-base. The banter between these two is amazing, and you would almost think it was foreplay, well maybe it is because the chemistry between them is undeniable and when the unexpected happens, we see how explosive it can be. The unexpected was them chatting with each on a dating app, unknowingly, until they decide to meet in person and then the hot fun really begins. I enjoyed how everything played out in this book, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. I love how realistic and relatable the characters are and it is great to get to know them. There is never a dull moment, and the story has the perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Katherine McIntyre, thank you for another great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Dylan Rockwell continues to do a great job portraying the characters, humanizing them with their personality and their emotions. I like how he takes each role and makes it his own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. He handled the back-and-forth banter with easy and lands the humor and snark effortlessly. Rockwell is a versatile voice artist and his performance makes the story even more enjoyable. Thank you for another great listen.

I really enjoyed this. I love enemies to lovers especially when they fall in love (or like) anonymously. it was sweet, steamy and fun. The characters were easy to like and the narrator was good, not a lot of variety in his voices but enough to make it clear who was speaking. My only complaint was that he overdid the sultry tone sometimes but overall it was an easy and fun listen!

I will say I was annoyed that the cover model in no way matched either MC. There was absolutely no mention of Theo being black or mixed, none of the descriptions of him mentioned dark skin, and in fact mention pink skin tone on him more than once.. I know they can't always get a model that matches correctly, but if you're going to have diversity on the cover, PLEASE actually give us that diversity in the book! I always look for books with diverse characters so this felt like a bait and switch.

That criticism aside, I enjoyed this book a lot and can't wait for Liam and Ollie's story!
