This is a favorite series that I’m listening to after having read them several times. The stories throughout are a great progression from book to book. Each winds up what happens specifically in that story arc while continuing the overall series arc and connecting to each other as well. The author does an excellent job with so many people and events in Merlin’s it moving forward at just the right pace, and with the perfect balance of heat, humor, feels, and magical mystery action.

The narrator is also excellent and I’m glad I gave listening a try. Definitely check these out-though if you’re new to the series you should look up the chronological reading order and follow it if you can!

With workman coming on to the estate to build a pool, Sawyer and his men leave for Griffin Island. Here they soak in the sun and encounter even more danger. When Sawyer is kidnapped, the entire island is on the lookout, but treachery keeps him hidden. It is only when Sawyer’s newest guardian saves him that he reaches out for his guardians to come help. This story is full of action, heat, and the coming to terms on what needs to be done to keep Sawyer safe. Needing to recuperate, his mates work together to welcome a new member and return home to only encounter another guardian who rubs Sawyer the wrong way right from the beginning.

I loved that this one focused on trying to get to know one of the families. With the griffins being the money people it made sense that they went to them first. Seeing them try to navigate the politics of if all was fun.

This series is so good! I'm enjoying Sawyer and his mates thoroughly. There is sweetness and heat in spades. I really like that there are different mythical/supernatural beings and that we are introduced to a new guardian in this book. I'm excited to meet the other guardians and see their relationships grow.
