Austin is your typical country boy, except he has a secret: Austin has PTSD. As he struggles with the effects of war, Aubrey sashays her way into his life. She begins to slowly help him overcome his nightmares and shows him that he's not only a hero to everyone, but to her as well.

This is a quick listen that has a little bit of everything in it.
Aubrey is driving through town when her car breaks down in front of Austin's house. He offers to drive her into town to get the parts needed so he can fix her vehicle. She agrees – not really the smartest move for a single gal, in my opinion.
They learn pretty quickly that they do know one another from mutual friends weddings. Next they are under the covers and having a good time. She moves in and he is ecstatic. However, he suffers from PTSD which occurs when he's asleep. For some reason he does not want to share this with her.
I'm just giving you a little bit of what I took away from the book. As I said it was relatively short and touched on many, many areas but didn't seem to follow through on any of them.
This is a book that contains lots of intimacy, so if you want something sexy to listen to. If you're looking for an in-depth plot and execution, this book may frustrate you. However, remember it is just over one hour and a half long.
Sam Smith did a believable job with Austin and the other male characters. But the characters of Aubrey and the females sounds just a wee bit less masculine than the men. They were distinguishable but not quite enough.
Warning: Descriptions of sex, strong language
