Lennox Summers had her life turned upside down in the blink of an eye. She's still adjusting to her new normal, but omega biology waits for no one, and according to her lab work, her first heat is coming right after the New Year.

With The Omega Exchange's New England location at winter capacity, Lennox has no choice but to stay at a local bed and breakfast to wait for a spot to open up.

What she's not expecting is to be so drawn to the former pro-hockey player owner of the bed and breakfast or his gruff twin brother.

Between the two, the holiday season is definitely looking up.

Until a blast from the past comes in the form of one DEA agent, Malik Thorne.

Can Lennox finally take her future into her own hands? Or will everyone's differences be too great to overcome?

Lennox's novella is set during the holiday season, but it's more of a backdrop than a plot point. You can enjoy Wild Card as a complete standalone or as a fun add-on to end the Assurance Security Series on a lighter note.

Read after THREE OF A KIND, the older sister’s story.

Possible Spoilers:
Lennox Summers, younger sister of Brooklyn from THREE OF A KIND doesn’t want to get in the way of her sister’s happiness with her new pack. She’s tired of being depressed over Thorne breaking up with her. At barely 21, Lennox is determined to move on and is going to the Omega Exchange, but decides to go to the New England location instead of near her sister’s home in Virginia. But OENE is full at this time, so Lennox opts to stay at a B&B nearby, where she meets Rush. Then she meets his very large twin, Bear, at the local bar. The twins are both immediately tangled in her scent and are determined to watch over her and see what happens. Meanwhile, Thorne has resigned from the DEA and tracks down Lennox. Within 48 hours of exposure to the 3, Lennox goes into her first heat. Bonding and happiness ensue.
Moyen and Gallagher do an ok job of narration. For whatever reason, Moyen’s voice started creeping into the high, shrill range which I find unpleasant. Thankfully, there’s little to no mumbling.

even Lennox finds pack

I was intrigued to listen to Brooklyn's sister's story after how that story blew up at the end of the previous book! Thorne being undercover was a shock and it was good to see him have to grovel a bit in this one to make up for it haha. I understand why he did what he did and I loved he gave her space but also was fighting for her once they reunited, but I felt for her, feeling lied to and abandoned pretty much.

I loved the guys in this one and the funny doggie as well haha. She was a hoot, I could imagine her in my head as I was listening! I think for me this one felt a little disjointed with the relationship building but it was kinda set-up that way with how the author did the heat and connections. I think I would have preferred a slightly longer story so we could get more solid connections or time to develop that onscreen building if that makes sense. I felt the only one we got to see the build-up was Bear (and I was ok with that since he was my absolute fav!!) and his brother didnt get much time and Thorne even less. I know they had a relationship before and maybe I need to read to the bonus scenes to see if anything was mentioned but the readers missed out on their connection previously so it didnt connect with me as much as the others (why I gave this 4 instead of 5 stars). Too much off-screen time that the reader didnt get to read or listen to, to help cement the reader/story connection.

I loved the holiday aspect of this story as well. With the B&B, the bar, the holiday activities. The tree and lights/decorations, her courting and Christmas gifts. I wish we got more time with her aerial/silks, since it was sexy sounding! I liked the dynamics the brothers brought and I appreciated how they all opened up about their issues and talked things through. The steam was delicious in this one.

Narration was done well but again same male narrator so same comment as the previous audiobook. I wish he didnt make the female voices he performs so nasally and whiney. Sometimes it's fine but when they get animated it is not my favorite thing in the world. I think the disadvantage for the female narrator is she can't do a voice justice for Bear and that's hard and not really her fault. She tried to give it a different timbre and make it sound more manly and grump grump but it's hard to have it be low enough to really get that vibe.

Overall solid 4 stars from me, gonna take a break for a little bit audio wise from her and then try another one of her series later this spring after I catch up on some other stories I have been eyeing up recently!

Enjoyed this novella and want a Bear of my own!

Review
Such a sweet holiday novella, it was exactly want i was looking for!
I loved this FMC Lennox, her free spirit and a such loving character. The alphas of the group are Bear and Rush who are twins. Then we have Thorne, who is her ex and is back! These 3 are perfect, they spoil and she is their whole world. It’s very special, with a cute Christmas setting. Bear is my favorite out of the group with Thorne coming in as a close second, with his groveling so good!
It’s just another in a long list of Jillian West books that I love! So yes I would definitely recommend, if you looking for a spicy little novella this is for you! Merry Christmas 🎄

Summary bit
This book is about a character from the last one who is struggling to stay away from a criminal guy. Turns out the guy was really undercover and pretending to be a gangster. Which was discovered in the last book. She finally decides to go to the Omega place to find a pack. Her trip gets put on a hole due to her heat not being started. There she meets her old love and two new ones. A bar brawl starts the wheels in action.

Review bit
The main female character is young has her own past hurts. Her character depth is not majorly detailed but you get a feel of her. The main male characters are also not a lot of effort in the back story but you get a better detail of one.
The storyline is fast and not a lot of adventures. Just all kind of happens. No major advents. Minus the one bar fight. Kind of bummed out. The series started out strong then kind of dimmed out.

Narrator review
Pretty good in all the books they were reading. No complaints.

Would I recommend this book?
I don’t know. This felt like it was tacked on and not much effort put in compared to others. But no major issues other than the lack of story. Short and sweet I guess.

Not her best work. Eh ok
