Let me start off by saying that the premise behind this book is okay. Even after I read the synopsis of this book I was a bit confused because throughout the book Wolf, who is the main character, kept referring to himself as his 'wolf'. I kept reading the synopsis because I thought that he was shifter. I kept feeling confused. I know that I am beating a dead horse but I really was just confused about how he kept referring to himself as a 'wolf'. I went in thinking this was going to be a shifter book and not a contemporary read.
But let me get back to my review of the meat of the story. This was a very quick listen and at times I was all for it. Then other times I was a bit confused. Wolf and Scarlett had an interesting relationship. It was lust at first sight for them. They were playing back and forth with one another. Wolf was playing hard to get and Scarlett was not having it. She went after him hard and he was acting as though he was being gallant. I get the code but Wolf could have told Scarlett so she understood what was going on.
The narration was not the best. It was not the worst that I have listened to but again it is not the best. I think he did a very good job with the males but with the women it was just rough. He could have read the women's part without trying to change his voice as severe as he did.
This is contemporary and not paranormal

The book itself was good short fun with an insta-love relationship. Wolf helped Scarlett when her car broken down and they had instant attraction. He didn’t want to let her go but she was the daughter of one of the starting members so he couldn’t be with her or he risks losing his presidency at the MC, due to outdated rules. Therefore, they want each other but there are obstacles, including issues with a neighboring gang (that I assume will be a thread that continues over the subsequent books in the series). Overall, listening to them get their HEA was fun and I look forward to the next book in the series!
