At 18, Landon Miller was sure about two things - he was a submissive and he was going to be with Gregory Douglas for the rest of his life. That was until parents and school got in the way, and he found himself in New York, thousands of miles from the man who had learned how to take him in hand.

Years later, behind the bar at Rapture, the BDSM club he's built on a foundation of disillusioned dreams and broken bricks, Landon finds himself face to face with his favorite memory and greatest regret - Gregory. Determined to recapture the magic of their first love, Gregory works to right the wrongs of their past so they can move on together.

Battling through the resentment from their youth, Landon is unexpectedly called back to New York, and Gregory can't help but fear the past is repeating itself. Fighting familiar feelings of helplessness, he makes the decision to give Landon what he needs, even if that means not chasing after the man he adores...again. Gregory can only hope when Landon returns, he won't throw away the love they've fought and risked everything for.

Contains mature themes.

What do you get when you combine tantrum throwing sub and an no nonsense dom, one heck of a steamy book is what you get. Landon and Gregory were meant to be in this second chance novel. ZA Martin did a great job narrating. On to the next book in the series.

What a rapturous book

He can go by Z.A Martin but I would know Iggy Toma anywhere. One of my favorite narrators.

Fantastic Narration

This book took me a week or more to finish, it felt like a slog about 1/2 way through. I kept leaving it and going on to another book to relieve the slog.
The book is of the Dom/Sub genre and isn't anything dark or violent, but quite descriptive so be prepared for lots of sex scenes. While lots of sex in a book is usually one of my favs, it just felt tedious about 1/2 way through. The premise of young high school lovers who went to different colleges in different states losing their connection completely, but then meeting by chance and re-connecting was good. Gregory, the Dom in this story was a steady, thoughtful, and competent personality. Landon was a brat and not very likeable. I would have booted his bum to the curb if I were Gregory. Landon held a grudge against Gregory for their lost connection out of high school, and refused to accept his own culpability for about 1/4 the book. Good grief! Grow up already. Landon also behaved immaturely several more times by misinterpreting events and choosing to hold on to his anger and pout. Nope, not a person I would care to bond with for the rest of my life. Landon is very very lucky that Kate Hawthorne wrote Gregory to be patient, insightful, and willing to compromise.
Z.A. Martin was a competent narrator, about the same level as the story he narrated.

Lucky Landon, Patient Gregory

I couldn't finish the book.

***SPOILERS***
I'm not sure the author has ever talked with anyone truly involved with BDSM. There were so many risky behaviors in this book. The sub says right off the bat that he has no limits. No one has "no limits". They negotiate their D/s relationship while in the middle of a scene. The dominant says they aren't going to do something then literally one minute later they're doing it. And the BDSM club that the MC owns serves alcohol in the play room! Alcohol and play, especially the heavy impact play that they engage in, do NOT mix!!! They don't actually drink the alcohol in the scene that I read, but they do mention stocking the bar in the room with wine.

The entire book reads like a vanilla person's idea of the fantasy of BDSM. If you're just looking for a light read, then you might enjoy this book. If you're looking for something that actually resembles the lifestyle, then this book isn't for you.

I don't think the author has ever been to a BDSM club
