Teresa Melton and Lyle Willingham were quite fortunate to have been invited to the same wedding and reception. They may not have actually known each other previously, but they both knew a lot of people, both knowing the bride and groom and many of their friends.
So when a high school classmate that Teresa was talking to at the reception had to leave to go home and take care of the children while her husband left for his night job, Lyle could not avoid the temptation to approach Teresa and ask if she would mind if he could fill the empty chair.
