When a devastating solar storm wipes out the power grid, civilization collapses nearly overnight. No power. No running water. No law. Panic ignites the streets as food disappears, cities burn, and violence spreads like wildfire.
Retired Army Captain James “Hunter” Seaton always knew society was hanging by a thread—just nine missed meals from anarchy—but even he wasn’t prepared for how fast everything would unravel. In his quiet Tennessee neighborhood, fear turns neighbors into threats, and survival means making impossible choices.
As resources dwindle and chaos closes in, Hunter and his wife, Annie, make a desperate gamble: escape the city and reach the safety of a family farm, hundreds of miles away. But the road is a battlefield—clogged with abandoned cars, ruthless ambushes, and the lawless remnants of a dying world.
Reaching the farm is only the beginning. They’re not the only ones looking for refuge in the farmlands, and not everyone comes in peace. As desperate survivors clash over dwindling supplies, Hunter must decide how far he’s willing to go to protect his family, his home, and what’s left of his humanity.
A gripping, action-packed survival thriller for fans of One Second After, Lights Out, and Going Home.
The grid is down. The real war has begun.

THe voice actually was quite good and had tone and infliction in the right places. No annoying pauses in the wrong places.
The story was very good and I very much enjoyed it. I’m hoping for a book 2 sometime.
