Charlotte Davidson has a dream – to publish her novel and share her stories with the world. Her parents however are dead set against such ambitions – they only want her to marry. Defiant and determined, Charlotte vows to refuse any man they choose, but her resolve is tested when she meets Jacob Kirk, the Earl of Swadlincote, in a disastrously awkward first encounter. As they get to know each other, she wonders if there might be more to this arranged marriage than she initially thought.

Can she navigate this unexpected twist in her life's story without breaking her heart?

Jacob Kirk, the Earl of Swadlincote has a problem – the money he has inherited is all but gone, and he fears he will lose the family seat if something is not done to save it. An arrangement with a local merchant seems to offer a lifeline, but it comes with the stipulation of marriage to his daughter, Charlotte. Initially uninterested and with his heart set on another, Jacob is surprised by Charlotte's wit and independence, and most importantly, with the effect she has on him. As he grapples with his deepening feelings for her and the jealousy of his former love, he begins to question his true desires…

Will this marriage of convenience turn out to be a blessing in disguise?

As Charlotte and Jacob face societal pressures, jealousy, and personal ambitions, they find themselves drawn together in unexpected ways. With their wedding day approaching and external forces threatening to tear them apart, they must decide if their partnership can evolve into something more meaningful. Will their shared struggles and growing bond be enough to transform this arrangement into true happiness?

unbelievable, disjointed, and ridiculous !! this could have been a good story. but it felt rushed and just unbelievable. Arranged marriage or not the main character would not put up with the other woman especially one who love romance. the parents were unbelievable in not even listening to the daughter. and being wishy washy in pushing one marriage and then another then switching back. and then cutting ties but still paying his debts. like I said it could have been a good story but the unbelievable parts just made it ridiculous.
