A Boy’s Life is about a boy growing up in the mid-1950s in Southwestern Louisiana. It was a time of peace and opportunity, and this led to his learning to fly, attending the Air Force Academy, and then a career in the Air Force. He attended MIT to get an MS in Astronautical Engineering and left the service to join his famous father in drilling operations for the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. This led to him inventing a totally new digital-computer-based drilling and well control simulator and starting the company Digitran.After seven years, he took the company public, then sold his interest in the company and moved to Panama City, Florida. There he met his new wife, Sandy Drobiarz, a nurse Captain in the Air Force. She left the service and joined him in moving to Huntsville, Alabama. The next thirty years were devoted to his new career with CSC, working all over the world, raising two sons, and living in Dallas, then Houston, Texas.
