Emma Taylor loves Christmas.
Between the music and getting to spend time with family, she simply cannot get enough of it...which is why she’s decided to take a road trip with her daughter to her mother’s for the holiday.

But when her car breaks down just outside a town named Hollybrook, leaving her stranded and without a phone signal, she knows her fun Christmas is off to a terrible start.

Fortunately for her, a Hollybrook resident and mechanic happens to swing by, offering her and her daughter a place to stay while he repairs her car.

Unfortunately, this good Samaritan also happens to be the Grinch.

Ever since he lost his wife and son in a tragic accident five years ago, Jack Thompson has holed himself up at home to avoid Christmas and everything to do with it. But when he comes across the beautiful out-of-towner stranded in the snow, he can’t refuse her the help she needs—even if it means he’s going to be having guests at Christmastime.

With only ten days until Christmas, all Emma wants is to get back on the road and to her mother’s home. The last thing she needs is to remain stranded in this town, living with a man who absolutely hates Christmas.

Or to fall in love with him.

This was a cute little story. This is the 1st story I’ve listened to with a virtual voice and while it wasn’t “bad” it does take time to get used to. I would not purchase a title with a virtual voice however. I did enjoy this sweet short story.

Cute Story

The story was ok but the AI narration is awful. This is the second book I have listen to with it and it’s bad. It’s really hard to get into the story when there is no emotion in the narration.

This story is good if you're looking for a sweet Christmas romance. There's nothing unusual about it, but that's OK if you just want a quick, clean holiday read. What drove me crazy was how the Virtual Voice read it. It sounded like a human voice, but it read like it didn't understand punctuation, which gave sentences emphasis in odd places, and changed the meaning confusingly in some instances. It distracted me from the actual story several times. I found it very irritating, but if you don't mind Virtual Voice, then I recommend this book as a snack romance for the holidays.
