Relocated to New York for The Clockwork Testament, or, Enderby's End, Enderby has to defend himself and his first film scenario, which he based on a poem by Gerald Manley Hopkins but - shades of Burgess's A Clockwork Orange - was transmogrified into an X-rated movie.

I really like the Enderby series, but some books are better than others, and I found this the least compelling. The author seems to use the novel to poke at the director of A Clockwork Orange and the writing seems more constrained than the final novel which is my favorite. BTW A Clockwork Orange novel is much better than the movie, and is well worth reading even if you detested the movie.

This is still quite humorous and worth reading, just not quite as good as the others in the series.

The narration is excellent.
