predictable but good. somewhat generic but good naration. not really a space opera however a good filler novel between epics.

Great syfi. A little predicable, but a great story line. Political intrigue, starship battles, a lot of interesting characters. There was a lot of officers and flag officers that happened to be female, which I though was cool. All 'n' all a fun book. Will read a second one if it comes out. I'm sure I'll read 'A Faded Star' again, at some point. It was worth the money.......

Freeport's imagination and use of fringe science is well done. He presents a well thought out navy with great characters.
