Though I listened to the book until its end, I lost interest in the protagonist less than half way through. His story gave me the feeling of observing someone whose wrists & ankles were tied as he sat in a chair and writhed…as much as possible. His only true communication—thanks to his mouth being covered by a strap—came from the gesture of his eyes and brow.
Tortuous.
