There is nothing in this book that is a profound plot twist or unexpected world builder. You read this kind of book for easy entertainment because it just kind of is. I wanted more bad ass main character. She had one scene where I was excited to see what she could do, but I would’ve loved more. I did enjoy the writing style and chemistry between characters, but I think there was potential to do more. I would’ve loved a sequel with the two main characters being badass, crime fighters or something. It’s almost a positive that the next book is about the sister because I think this was a good place to end.

The plot twists and turns in this book were remarkable, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Brynleigh has emerged as my new favorite female protagonist. She has endured significant challenges and has grown immensely from her experiences. The writing is beautifully crafted, and the voice actors are exceptional. I eagerly anticipate exploring River’s story next.
