Cora Mitchell leaves the comforts of Boston behind, heading west to marry a man she's never met. Arriving in Colorado, she meets Judson Carter, a reserved innkeeper with a kind smile and eyes shadowed by secrets. Though she is drawn to his quiet strength, Cora carries a secret of her own, one that could unravel everything.

Judson Carter has built his life around control and hard work and is determined to leave his past behind. Yet, his new bride's spirited charm and quiet vulnerability stir emotions he thought he had buried long ago. She is not the woman he expected, but she might be everything he needs.

Amid the rugged beauty of the frontier, Cora and Judson's fragile bond is tested by old wounds and lurking dangers. As trust grows and hearts entwine, they must decide if love is worth the risk of revealing their true selves.

Overall I enjoyed this audio book. It got tedious towards the end but the first half had me thinking how good it was that individuals were making sound decisions. So often it takes an entire book for people to start revealing their stories so this was refreshing.

The virtual voice is far from perfect but has much improved over the past years.
