This is a memoir of an introverted Canadian engineer who contributed in many ways to the advancement of civil aviation during the evolution into digital avionics and flight management. Retirement opened the door to a new world of creative writing as a novelist. All in all, a full and varied life--in fact, a quiet rampage. I found A Quiet Rampage to be an engaging and deeply satisfying audiobook. Sandy Graham’s story comes through with clarity and heart. An introverted engineer, a gifted author, and a proud Canadian whose quiet influence shaped modern commercial aviation. Listening to his reflections gave me a renewed appreciation for both the man and the magnitude of his contributions.
I had the privilege of working directly for Sandy at Boeing Commercial Airplanes during the development of the 757 and 767 programs in the 1980s. Hearing him recount those years, along with the broader story of his career, brought back many fond memories and connections. His pioneering work in digital navigation and guidance systems was transformative for the entire commercial airline industry. After all these years, I gained a renewed sense of Sandy’s intellect and the warm humility with which he led.
For me, this audiobook was more than a memoir, it was a chance to reconnect with a former leader whose intellect, steadiness, and quiet brilliance left a lasting mark on our world.

A Quiet Rampage is a thoughtful memoir of a remarkable engineer and an even more remarkable person!
