The bone-shaking new trilogy concludes – the latest adventure in the bestselling Skulduggery Pleasant series

Skulduggery Pleasant has many enemies – many, many enemies – and people try to kill him multiple times a day. But when someone puts a price on his head, he finds himself going up against a foe that not even he can beat. Not alone, anyway.

And where is his partner right when he needs her the most?

Valkyrie Cain is in prison, fighting to stay alive in a place where everyone wants to kill her.

With an island of sorcerers ready to cut themselves off from the rest of the world, a terrorist group enjoying unprecedented public support, and a showdown looming between Winter Grieving and the Child of the Ancients, Skulduggery and Valkyrie find that their options, like their chances, are quickly running out.

IS THIS THE END?

So my overall experience of the book is great. Though a party of me was missing the vibes of slashers but I get it we need to switch things up. Anyway, overall, the story has bigger stakes than I thought it would. It does touch on bigger issues and makes you wonder what’s next. Because let me tell you something is coming and I’m not sure what it could be.

There’s so gonna be more!

Ive listened to everybody probably 10 times. Counting days... waiting till 3am... and finally... I snuggled up and hit play.

It was unexpected. wont leave spoilers. our fearless leader spend more time weaving the story... in this and the last two... which is fine becausr when the moment hit... it hit hard.

and kept hitting.

until the end... which is exactly as it should have been.

the Soul full of shadows tho... didnt see that coming.

A clear 5* because the writing, narration and finale... fabulous.

I'm a die hard fan... would love more... but also... unferstand... this is the end. for so many reasons.

Until the end...

It feels like a lot of plot points in the finale of this saga were somewhat ignored and then rushed near the end, especially the reckoning which initially felt like it was gonna be a big deal and then just kind of....didn't happen? When (spoilers) just kinda shows back up with a "I forgot to think ahead"-esque fashion the fight fully becomes an unimportant side story. And I really don't understand the need for almost all characters (irredeemably evil ones included) to randomly bust out a "can we just talk about the political and economic state of the world rn" during completely unrelated conversations. Supporting LGBTQ+ is cool and all but it doesn't need to be reiterated every few chapters in a young adult fantasy novel where the world is ending, sometimes feels like Im reading a book written by what a chronicly online people think millennials are like. If it's the end of the series then it's a frustrating end

Frustrating
