When a secret society wants you dead, hiding in the past might be your only future.

BOOK 2 in the award-winning series THE TIME TRAVEL JOURNALS OF SAHARA ALDRIDGE Series!

Egyptologist Sahara Aldridge thought discovering King Tut's tomb would be career-defining. Instead, it's her cover while hunting through time for the truth about her parents.

The trail leads to Ancient Rome. And she's not going alone.

The mysterious Tempus Vigilia has sent assassins through the centuries to silence her bloodline forever. Jack Moretti claims he's protecting her, but his agenda shifts like desert sand. And now the society has threatened the one thing that could break her completely—her family.

In Ancient Rome, trust is a luxury she can't afford and love might be the deadliest weapon of all.

Imperial conspiracies. Senate betrayals. Emperor Nero's blood-soaked final days. As Sahara navigates Rome on the brink of collapse, she discovers some secrets are worth an empire's destruction. When the conspiracy reaches Nero's inner circle, even time travel might not save those she loves.

Will Rome give her the answers she's dying for, or will it become her tomb?

Join Sahara's most dangerous journey yet. Because in Ancient Rome, every choice could be your last.

I really love this series. As a traveler, I love that this book takes you even deeper into the stories of past. It brings these places alive in your imagination. I feel like I stepped back in time to experience the events with the characters. Having been to some of the places listed in the book made the details from the author jump out even more for me. Getting a deeper backstory of the people, it makes all of the twists and turns in the story even more breathtaking. This is so hard to put down. So glad that I am able to continue directly onto the third book.

There was a lot of world building, no, more like "getting to know the characters" in book one, and to be honest, not much action, so I almost didn't continue the series, but I am doing a buddy read with my husband, and he really wanted to continue, so I did. And I am SO glad I did. This series is FANTASTIC! This author really did her research for intertwining the historical aspects of this series with the fantasy. I was on the edge of my seat once this book got going. More action, more suspense, more everything. Off to read book 3 to find out the conclusion of this series. 5 stars

This story finally got going.

Great story narrated without the usual emotion or nuanced and distinct character portrayals. I’d like this story much more if read by a human voice.
