Tucked away in the rolling Cotswolds, Mistlethwaite Court is the picture of serenity—neat cottages, rose gardens in bloom, and the comforting clink of teacups in the afternoon sun. But when a retired judge is found floating in the lily pond, the peace of this idyllic retirement village begins to ripple.

Agnes Bloom, a former librarian with a love of mystery novels, can’t help noticing that something doesn’t quite add up. With the help of Bernard Fielding, a kind-hearted ex-postman with a nose for secrets, and Clarissa Houghton, a glamorous former actress who’s been waiting for one last dramatic role, Agnes sets out to uncover the truth behind the village’s most scandalous event in years.

As the trio dig beneath the surface of Mistlethwaite’s well-kept lawns, they uncover whispers of old grudges, missing heirlooms, and unexpected kindnesses. And along the way, they find that friendship—and a shared pot of tea—might just be the best detective tools of all.

Heartwarming, witty, and delightfully English, Afternoon Tea Murder Club proves that growing older doesn’t mean slowing down—especially when there’s a mystery to solve.

made more interesting by the legal corruption aspect but still, mostly that Miss Marple feel ("a little old lady asking questions is *just* a little old lady asking questions".
Narration was quite good for virtual voice - the usual errors (tho less frequent) but I managed to finish it.
Enjoyable little listen while I did laundry

cute little mystery, overall
