I'll never date a football player—but all the veteran quarterback wants? Me.

Daniel

My life's defined by my long career as a quarterback. I'm determined to have a great season because I'm not sure how many I have left. But when I slam into gorgeous reporter Kelsey Cole on the sidelines, my focus on the game takes a backseat to my fascination with her. She's tiny, smart, fierce, and makes me feel young again. There's only one problem: she hates football—with good reason, too. Still, you don't become a champion quarterback without learning how to fight for what you want.

Football's always come first, but Kelsey might be the one to change that.

Kelsey

The last thing I need is to get involved with huge and handsome quarterback Daniel Harrison. Under all those muscles, he's hiding charm and a surprising intellect—an irresistible combination. I can't deny our chemistry, but I can't stand what he does for a living. Not to mention, once the internet starts shipping us, the spotlight becomes unbearable. The fans will hate me even more when they find out I'm writing a piece that could leave the league they love in shambles.

There's no future for the hot quarterback and me—so why can't I say goodbye?

Against The Clock is a spicy adult sports football romance with dual POV and a guaranteed HEA.

Dual POV. Dual Narration. Very cute story with some “good girl” steaminess. I enjoyed the low angst and no third act breakup. It is a great palate cleanser or if you are in the mood for a cute and loving story 🥰

Good read. All the spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🍨🍦

Sweet romance, low strife, good read for between really rough books that rattle your emotions. This one doesn’t rattle emotions, but soothes and satisfies.

This is a new to me author and I have to say I was not disappointed. Brittany Kelley just gained a new fan. This is an adorably sweet, sinfully delicious and swoon worthy romance that had me yearning for more. Daniel and Kelsey are simply perfect for one another. I enjoyed going on this cute journey with these two amazing characters. Great story!

This was an okay title, decent enough for a free listen but not sure I would have wanted to pay full price for it or use a credit. Some of the story seemed unrealistic. The comparisons to things were at first okay, but got more awkward as the story went (example: his hug was like a warm cup of hot chocolate). There were other annoyances throughout (example: ML calling the FL by first and last name frequently—people do not talk like that regularly).

Kelsey especially had a lot of warranted hesitancy about a relationship with Daniel which took up a lot of her thoughts in the first half or so, but the switch flipped so quickly it was odd. Daniel’s confidence matches his age which was refreshing in a male lead.

I couldn’t tell if the author loved football (which would be the assumption as she’s writing a football novel) or hated it, though the points she made in comparison to real life football players and cheerleaders were true. The narration was also just okay. Both the narration and the story in the end kind of dragged. I don’t think it was a bad premise or anything, it just maybe needed a little more revising.

Overall I think the author has a lot of potential as it was well written grammatically, the characters mostly believable, and I will possibly continue the series if I’m able in the event that this is an early release for the author, as writers often improve with every release. She definitely has the talent in there in my opinion even if this one was a bit of a miss for me.

Enjoyable characters. Cute story. Rather heartfelt and serious sports topics. fast paced and quick read. I truly liked that it wasn't predictable either. I enjoy this author and these narrators too.
