Editorial reviews

Popular narrator and winner of the Benjamin Franklin Award Richard Davidson adds to the enjoyment of this collection of stories about the Chicago Cubs with his striking, whisky-flavored voice. Davidson clearly relishes narrating the fascinating and often-funny anecdotes about some of the most notable Cubs players in history, and his delight is contagious. Each chapter is devoted to a player, revealing new facts and exploring memorable moments in his career. While this audiobook will please Cubs fans the most, even listeners new to baseball will come away with an appreciation for the team.

I didn’t understand the layout of the book. It started with a short bio of a bunch of different players in history, in what I finally realized was alphabetical. Then it told short stories in seemingly no order, many repeated 2-3 times and that I have heard other places. The timeline went back and forth through history and overlapped with themselves. It caused me to continually check it see if it was over yet.
Narrator had a few questionable pronunciations (ie Ron “Sonto”)
Lots of interesting stories, but nothing amazing as the title promises.
