“As I sailed out of the Steinhatchee River, out onto the Gulf of Mexico, my heart picked up a beat,” writes John Almberg. "It suddenly struck me that this was the first time I’d ever sailed beyond the narrow, protected waters of Long Island Sound. "Am I really going to do this?” Equipped with cheerful optimism, invention, and persistence, this ordinary middle-aged man takes you on a sailing adventure from Florida's Nature Coast to Long Island Sound—2000 miles through open ocean, steamy Everglades, trackless marshes on the Intracoastal Waterway, more bridges and locks than you can count, and finally through New York’s infamous Hell Gate. An epic story that proves it’s never too late for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Travel Writing & Commentary Water Sports Heartfelt Sailing

Smart guy who’s heart probably let him bite off more than he can chew. But you he did! Great story! I loved his commitment to the traditional, old school mindset. This and his tenacity made the story better! Definitely did not like the AI reader. Some of the sharpness and humor had to be imagined due to AI not being able to get it across very well. In all, definitely worth my time and thank you, sir, for writing such a great book.

Small boat average joe adventure tale, AI voice but the story is worth the listen. You'll also learn about inland Florida waterways.

I didn’t know what to think about AI voice but it worked very well. Some books never come out in audiobook format so I can see the appeal although obviously I prefer a real human.
But the story was good and I got a real feel for all the places the sailor passed through.
Overall a nice listen.
