The newest battle in a long-dormant conflict has shocked the world as a continent split apart, and hundreds of millions perished.

The Wonderwerk Man, an ancient being resurrected with alien technology, lies at the center of the chaos as the entire planet seeks answers for the devastation unleashed. More people are caught up in the world-altering events as the ripples of change begin to sweep across all facets of human life. Humanity now must compete with the sins of its past; mysterious secret organizations, artificial intelligence, and extraterrestrial beings in a race to prevent another battle, one that might destroy the world itself.

The story line was awesome, but there was so MUCH graphic violence that went on and on and on, well...I found it gratuitous. For a lot of people who are interested in the more esoteric aspects of things, they have already been through trauma, personally, and listening to it for over 30 minutes at a stretch, to torture with the added insult of GLEE, well, please, no. I can handle a lot, but it became unseemly. It feels like authors are using "action" as filler to extend on what could be a really amazing book, into 3 books that are just OK. Authors, please don't fall for this, it won't pay out in the end. I would love to hang in there for book 3, but on principle, I can't. Give us more of what you are actually trying to say. Grow your ideas, instead of violence for violence's sake, give us backstory. WHO ARE the aliens? Tell us their story. Tell anyone's story. At one point a character says to another "Quit going on and on about how horrible the human race is, we already know." Well, I couldn't have said it better. We don't pay $25.00 for a book, when we could just turn on the news.

Interesting, but...
