Anne of Green Gables is a 1908 novel by the Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery. The setting is the fictional town of Avonlea on Prince Edward Island in the late 19th century, where the 11-year-old orphan girl Anne Shirley is sent to two middle-aged siblings, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, after a childhood spent in strangers' homes and orphanages. The novel recounts Anne's joys and challenges in settling in to her new - and first real - home Green Gables, the country school, and the town. The narrative is a chain of delightful episodes about Anne’s friendship with Diana Barry, her rivalry with her classmate Gilbert, her literary ambitions, and her conflicts with the horrible Pye sisters.

Anne of Green Gables has become a children’s classic, and has been translated into more than 30 languages.

I picked this most because I know the narrator and that this was one of my favorite books growing up. After listening to the book. I felt that story held up over time and that the performance of the narrator does a great job with a clean crisp delivery.

A good book and good narration
