Hildegard Bennet had grown up in an orphanage and had always felt out of place due to the fact that she stood head and shoulders above everyone else. She met Ben Woodman, who barely missed running her over with his wagon, causing her to fall and pick up painful slivers in her hands. When he stops his wagon and gets out to help her up, he is shocked at how much she towers over him. He thought he was tall at his six feet two inches, but she made him feel short at her six feet five or six inches. I liked that you showed more of Hilde's love in contrast to Hester's haughtiness and jealousy. Looking forward to book 3.
