Seventeen-year-old Hajime Nagumo is your average, everyday otaku. However, his simple life of pulling all-nighters and sleeping in school is suddenly turned upside down when he, along with the rest of his class, is summoned to a fantasy world! They're treated like heroes and tasked with the duty of saving the human race from utter extinction. But what should have been any otaku's wet dream quickly turns into Hajime's nightmare. While the rest of his class are blessed with godlike powers, Hajime's job, Synergist, only has a single transmutation skill. Ridiculed and bullied by his classmates for being weak, he soon finds himself in despair. Will he be able to survive in this dangerous world of monsters and demons with only a glorified blacksmith's level of strength?

... you'll like this book. Minor spoilers but if you watched the anime you'll already know the story anyway. This novel starts before the anime series in the classroom before they become isakai-ed. Hajime's journey through the labyrinth is longer and more involved than shown in the show. This book covers the first 5 episodes of the anime in greater detail than could be shown. like I said if you like the anime you'll like this book.

The book is absolutely better than the anime.

I gave a 4 on performance, due to two different narrators. Both voice actors/narrators are amazing, but it would have been better for: male for male characters, beasts/monsters, and female for female characters and narrative. It was kinda humorous when she enacted the behemoth's roar.

Great production otherwise. Can't wait for the rest!

F'in' fantastic
