As a star left-winger for the Pittsburgh Titans, Atlas Karolak thrives on the ice but keeps his personal life uncomplicated. That all changes when tragedy strikes, pushing him into an unlikely partnership that tests his patience, challenges his heart, and threatens to rewrite everything he thought he knew about love and family.

Playing professional hockey wasn’t just a dream, it was the only one that ever mattered. I’ve worked my whole life for this career, and now that I’m playing for the Pittsburgh Titans, I’m exactly where I want to be. My life feels complete.

Losing my best friend to cancer shatters me in ways I didn’t see coming. And as I’m trying to figure out how to say goodbye, I’m blindsided again—because he’s named me and Maddie St. James as joint guardians of his daughter.

Maddie and I… we’re not friends. We’re barely acquaintances. If I’m oil, she’s water, and we’ve never managed to mix without friction. But for the sake of a little girl who’s already lost too much, we need to find neutral ground and figure out how to co-parent.

Are we capable? I’d like to think so. Are we scared out of our minds? Without a doubt. Can we put our differences aside and work together? Honestly, it depends on the day. But when stress turns into stolen glances, which turn into nights we can’t take back, our partnership gets a whole lot more complicated.

Because what started as obligation is starting to feel a lot like forever.

Atlas and Maddie have lost their best friend, Gray, to cancer. He has a nine month old daughter, Grace, that he wants both of them to raise together. They don't get along but for Grace and Gray's wishes, Atlas and Maddie decide to put aside their dislike for each other. Gray told them that he thought they were too much alike. As they work together, they find that they don't dislike each other. This story brought me to tears several times. This is a wonderful book. The narration was great, too.

Perfect love story

Emotionally powerful, perfectly unexpected, intoxicating and exquisitely captivating. I adored Atlas, Maddie and Grace. Their world tilted and shook when Grace’s father passes away and leaves her care in Atlas and Maddie’s hands. It takes these two a while to get along, to find a groove and to be the best parents they can be. Maddie’s past and her insecurities puts a wall between them. Will she give him a chance? I loved how patient, understanding and caring Atlas was. His love for Grace and Maddie was simply beautiful. I love everything about this story.

What can I say about Atlas, Maggie, and baby Grace. Their story is filled with heartbreak, learning to trust, and giving a chance for love.
Atlas loses his best friend Gray, to cancer. He and Maggie are entrusted to care for Gray's daughter when he is no longer here. Atlas moves Maggie and Gracetpo Pittsburgh so he can care for them both.
Maggie has never has girlfriends, but then she has never met the women of the Titans family. As she begins to realize that she has a bigger family than just Atlas and Grace.
Will love win in the end? I hope you have been reading the Pittsburgh Titans series and I hope you love them too. If not you should, I think you will fall for the players too. And I can't wait for the next book, Case is going to figure out what love really is.
