In a future where humans are enhanced to ensure the survival of society Akaego fights to prevent her power to grow plants from being weaponised by a corrupt regime.

In a near future London, where extreme weather has depleted plant life, sixteen-year-olds must surgically augment an ability to contribute to the new utopian society. While the idea of England becoming a desert wasteland is a bit over the top, the story is well formed and kept me listening. The reader was excellent and I could see and hear each character in my head. The interplay of freedom and government is also interesting and timely. A good listen.

Simply loved the story. A beautiful balance of current reality and our scary possible future with the strength only held by our youth. 💛 Its still important for youth to have adult allies.
