Set in 2020 during COVID-19, the world is in a turmoil as the economy weakens by the minute. The Jones' family is what this books mainly focus on as they transition through these tough times. Tasha and Marco do their best to provide for their kids while struggling with this global pandemic. When Tasha is at her supermarket job, the daycare calls telling her one of her kids have caught the bug. A woman a kid came into the facility coughing everywhere with no masks. They were thrown out and sued later in the story. Tasha quits her job to stay at home and watch over her kids. She decides to downsize their home to save money. They move to Woodcrest Village where they meet Karen from hell. Xavier is quarantined as soon they settle into their new home. Shortly after he's isolated for a while, his brother Rico catches it. They are quarantined away from Savannah and everyone else. While getting adjusted to their new house, Karen causes all kind of problems for the Jones' family. Tasha plays it smart by having Juilo the guard save video footage of Karen bullying her for evidence. No matter what happens Tasha has her family and best friend to get her through the tough times. Towards the end of the story, Karen does something so sinister that will leave you heartbroken in disbelief. Her true dark motives are relieved will Karen escape justice?
