The story is well-paced, well-written, sweet, and only a bit of drama. Piper was adorable, if a bit over-written for a 3-year old; and the development of the relationship between Jared and June was believable. I love how supportive and compassionate Keifer was but I don't know why June was so surprised to find herself surrounded by people who clearly loved her when they'd been there her whole life... I guess everyone has their moments, right? The narration was good, but it wasn't a performance; more of just a reading of the story, which was fine, but there were times when it felt like the narrator tried to give the characters different voices, but it wasn't consistent, so when there was no specific identifiers it was a bit confusing sometimes about who was speaking in a moment. Other than that, it was excellent, though I do feel like I may have enjoyed all the family interactions more easily if I'd read the other books in the series first. It IS a standalone, but there is a lot of history on the page for other family members, so it would be nice to see how they got there.

The narration is perfection! I could listen to these two all day. June and Jared have known each other forever but never thought of each other as more than friends. A little forced proximity opens a door neither expected. Add in a 4 year old and these two experience a life they both have only dreamed of. I absolutely love this book and Jared and Junes HEA. The Hawthorn series has fast become my favorite by this author.

Another fun story for the Hawthorns! I was a little surprised this wasn't going to be June and Keifer, but I'm glad Jerrad made the cut because we get to have a fun story with young Piper in it!
June and Jerrad were fun together! After some misunderstanding about who is staying where, a snow storm keeps the two (plus Piper!) together. I really liked their chemistry, and how there wasn't awkwardness with June and Piper. Plus, Piper was able to be included enough (not just talked about in an abstract sense), and wasn't a 40 year old in disguise. She got to be a kid having a fun time and wanting a maternal figure in her life. Jerrad was a bit more self contained. He did everything for Piper, so he has to learn to open his (and Piper's) world to having June in it in more than a brother's best friend capacity.

Overall, it's a fun read/listen. There are visits from characters in the previous book, and some hints at who will be in future books in the series.
Sometimes the antics of the June and Jerrad seemed a bit out of character for people in their mid/late twenties, but alls well that ends well, so I just rolled with it.

This story has some swearing and steamy scenes. It's told in dual POV, with June and Jerrad getting their innermost off limits thoughts being shared with the reader/listener.

I really liked the narrators! They each do a great job voices the characters and bringing them to life, making them seem real and relatable. I listened at 1.15x speed.

This is a single dad/ nanny, brother’s best friend Romance. They get stranded all together at the family cabin/mansion -and sparks begin to ignite its great spice a lot of fun banter.
I loved the characters and the storyline! The narrators did a great job of bringing June and Jarrod to life!

This is a wonderful story with great main characters, lots of interesting twists and turns and sizzling hot love scenes. Great performance. I couldn’t stop listening to it up to the end.
