Guy Evans' work is simply THE standard for what research, insight, detail, objectivity and storytelling looks like in the genre of wrestling books. This audiobook has everything from some amazing untold WCW stories to a detailed look at 'The Monday Night Wars Part 2' (a time in TNA Wrestling with many of the same people from the WCW days). Beyond Nitro also has a comprehensive history of the nWo from a cultural standpoint, and towards the end of the book, he articulates the most amazing breakdown of WCW's finances that you will ever hear! Somehow, Evans was able to find confidental Turner records that no one else has!

Like with NITRO, Evans' narration is once again superb, as he draws you in to each story. I was thoroughly entertained and learned tons of new stuff that I have never heard before (like Eric Bischoff's idea to film fake commercials!!). I absolutely loved this book and can't wait for what the author does next!

Evans describes his work as a labor of love, and it is evident in this provocative series.

Despite the demise of the promotion in 2001, the New World Order (NWO) continues to infatuate and intrigue wrestling fans. The book details the process in the creation of the iconic NWO logo, the music adopted for the faction, the inspiration for the 4 life catchphrase, and the voice behind the infamous "The following announcement has been paid for by the New World World" tag line.

Topics covered include the inspirational story of Lash Leroux's path to the squared circle, THQ's boom with the massive success of WCW/nWo Revenge video game, WCW's magazine and often maligned 900 hotline, and the mind blogging story of CFS mania. Guy is an amazing writer, researcher and narrator. The original Nitro book was an amazing historical account and this one is more of an anthology, but each of the stories is fantastic. I can’t wait for more of Guy’s work.

A perfect sequel to ‘Nitro’ by Guy Evans. This collection of stories are both entertaining and well researched. The breakdown of WCW finances alone is worth a listen. Great narration by author Guy Evans as well.
