From the creator of Jurassic Park and ER, a classic techno thriller brimming with high-stakes action and heart-pounding suspense

In an age of political unrest, one man aims to bring the government to its knees—and there’s only one agent who can stop him.

Wealthy political radical John Wright has taken aim at the US government, believing that only he can make things right. State Department Agent John Graves has been watching Wright for months, studying him, gathering intel, trying to determine his next move before he makes it.

Now, after hacking a government computer for secret files and stealing a shipment of VZ nerve gas, a binary agent, Wright has gathered everything he needs to unleash mass destruction on a million people—including the US president. As the clock winds down, Wright and Agent Graves play a high-stakes game of cat-and-mouse with the fate of the government and a million innocent people hanging in the balance.

I have read the paperback version of this story many times, and thought I would go for the book on tape.

I'm not sure what the narrator was going for here, but he sounded like a guy who would have done a good Dracula melodrama or playing an evil genius in a cartoon. Took a rather serious and plausible story and gave it an air of ludicrousness that was hard to ignore.

Also, Crichton's wife gave a short intro which somewhat ruined the recording for me. She said he was trying to write James Bond type thrillers at this point in his career. That may have been true, but I didn't need to hear it and it kind of colored my interpretation of the audiobook.

Probably better to just get the paper book and read it and skip this.

Narrator sounded like a cartoon character.

Hmmmm, boring, predictable, far too short . This feels like perhaps it was started, and he sadly passed, someone picked it up and wrote a final chapter

Scott Brick is always a win
