NATIONAL BESTSELLER • In this spellbinding novel, Lestat, rebel outlaw, addresses the tribe of vampires, telling us the mesmerizing story of how he became prince of the vampire world, and of the formation of the Blood Communion, and how his vision for the Children of the Universe to thrive as one, came to be.

Lestat takes us from his ancestral castle in the snow-covered mountains of France to the verdant wilds of lush Louisiana, with its lingering fragrances of magnolias and night jasmine; from the far reaches of the Pacific’s untouched islands to the 18th-century city of St. Petersburg and the court of the Empress Catherine. He speaks of his fierce battle of wits and words with the mysterious Rhoshamandes, proud Child of the Millennia, reviled outcast for his senseless slaughter of the legendary ancient vampire Maharet, avowed enemy of Queen Akasha, who refuses to live in harmony at court and who threatens all Lestat has dreamt of....

Trying to get into this book and the narrator is reminiscent of David Sadaris or Richard Simmons. Both wonderful people whom I like very much. But as far from a 18th century French Vampire as a wolf is to a goldfish.

They couldn't have chosen a worse narrator.

The Narrator is very distracting, I could not continue listening, suffered four chapters. I have listened to all the other Vampire Chronicles on Audible, I will have to just read this one on my own. I wasted a credit. Why Audible did not have Simon Vance narrate is beyond my understanding.

Narrator is BAD

Book and story line GRRAT as expected. I wish Simon Vance read as he makes Lestat who he should be. but overall it was good.

Awesome story but a lack luster read

I’m a huge fan of this series. Messing around with changing narrators to someone who doesn’t even pronounce any of the names right is horrifying! I couldn’t enjoy this one, would re-listen if someone else narrates it.

Oh the horror…

the story is great but the narrator mispronounces all the names and it drove me nuts and kept taking me out of the story
