Father John has lived his whole life without knowing a woman’s touch. This is a thriller about a priest that becomes fascinated by an erotic movie star. What stood out the most was the absolute respect that McCammon has for humans, no matter their walk of life. I’m not going to say anything about what happens because you need to read this for yourself.

I absolutely loved this story when I first discovered Robert McCammon in college. And it still stands the test of time. It's like a transmission from the 1980's, but aside from the references to porn video tapes, The story of Deborah Rocks and Father John "Lucky" is one of a pornstar who aspires to be a real actress and a young priest who questions his chosen path with the church. Their initial meeting is innocent enough, their relationship sweet and maybe a bit sad and the cloud of a serial killer targeting Deborah is unknown to either until late in the story.

It's a terrific story that pays homage to the human ability to lose their way, question the path ahead and shift. Bronson Pinchot tried a bit too hard in voicing Travis as the serial killer and Hoss. But, hey, he's Bronson Pinchot. Whether you remember him as Serge or Cousin Blaki.

I loved the crab ..and just the whole story was unexpected..I cried at the end.. a little 😉 would have been interested to know more back story about all the main characters but wasn't necessary.

I'll be honest this is my second read of this story. The first time I read it, I was a teenager and i liked it but it was totally forgettable for me. I bought this because I couldn't remember it, I just remembered i liked it. I'm a horror fan and there was no horror... Not the kind a kid could appreciate. I'm no longer a teenager and this story had everything. Forbidden love, f-ed-up murders, action-packed fight and hope just springing eternal....

Bronson Pinchot is my favorite Narrator. Hearts love and 10's for everyone.

I love this writer and I love this performer but I was apprehensive about this story due to the subject matter being something that didn’t apply to me. However the story was an unexpectedly captivating delight. Through Bronson’s performance I could feel every emotion and moment appreciation imbued in the text, he truly brings the heart aching love story to life.
