It loses points with me for blatantly lifting the plot from a Tom Cruise movie. Granted, it was a good one, and this author pulls it off well enough that I cried for "Goose", but I don't know that I can forgive the whole Top Gun thing. Great execution of the stolen plot, great world building, awesome Starbuck-swap. But no top less, sweaty volleyball game.

I enjoyed the story and characters, however the lack of knowledge about how planes actually fly was distracting when the author mentioned them touching wings at high speed as being playful it's disturbing when you know in real life that would be a major disaster probably ending in death.
