A shy, dutiful human princess. A cunning, vengeful Fae prince.

Will their arranged marriage cost them their hearts... or their lives?

Princess Isabelle Louise was raised for one thing: to secure a marriage alliance for the good of her people. All her hopes for a kind husband are dashed when the dark and dangerous Prince of the Fae comes seeking a human princess for his bride.

Suddenly married and thrust into a world of vicious magic and lethal bargains, Isabelle discovers too late the secret her bridegroom concealed from her: that she is the key to his plan to usurp the throne.

And now she is the object of the High King's wrath.

Is any chance at trust and affection gone before their marriage has even begun? Or will she even survive her first night as the bride of the Fae Prince?

The Cruel Prince meets Grace Draven's Radiance in this heart-wrenching and swoony romantic arranged marriage tale with dual point-of-view. Bride of the Fae Prince is perfect for listeners craving a standalone romantasy that ends in a happily ever after.

I want to preface by saying that I love this book and author. She is one of my favorite authors, and this is one of my favorite of her books. So this audiobook was a no-brainer for me as I love audiobooks. I tried to get past the narrator, I really did. I still listened to it because I like the story. But the female narrator’s performance really bugged me. It was strange because she actually did a great job with the male characters like the prince, but her voice for the fmc was so over the top. It sounded incredibly high pitched, and her intonation sounded like she was reading a children’s book. There honestly aren’t many narrators I have such a problem with, but after this book I would not purchase one again done by this particular narrator. It felt like very bad acting, honestly.

One of my favorite books. But don’t like the narrator.

A new favorite! I completely enjoyed this book as well as the narration. Grateful this amazing book is clean. I only read books with minimal swearing and low spice (closed door romance). Would recommend.

Love it!!!

I read this book when it came out a few months ago and gave it 6 stars. I was so excited when I found out there was an audiobook!! The narrators were fantastic! Highly recommend!!

my favorite was the person who did Ash's voice and chapters, however the princesses reader was also amazing. I was particularly amazed when Stella ate the Fea fruit and the was she changed her voice was amazing. and then the emotion in Ash's voice when he's crying out! well done!!

the emotions in the readers voice was phenomenal

My enjoyment of this book fluctuated between 3 and 4 stars while reading it. It started off strong for me, but kept doing things throughout the book that I either didn't like or rolled my eyes at, which kept bumping down my enjoyment every so often after stretches of story that I would quite enjoy.

I picked up this book specifically because it was recommended to me as a fantasy romance with a kind and gentle FMC and not a warrior who is better with a weapon than any other person in the room. And don't get me wrong, I like female warrior characters as much as most of my fellow female readers, but I am sick and tired of them being the only representation of a "strong female protagonist" in a romantasy. Plus, I tend to find majority of these characters to be mean, rude and sometimes downright abusive to everyone else in a story.
So I am always on a lookout for a romance story where the FMC isn't a super strong warrior who could brute force all her problems, but instead needs to use her intelligence, charisma and understanding of human nature to thrive in a fantasy world.

And this book certainly delivers on some of the things - the FMC is absolutely not a warrior, is kind and gentle and tries to be understanding of everyone (still lacking in the intelligence and charisma department, but I can't fault only her for that, since imo every character in the book is lacking in those departments as well).

What really caught my attention is that through the FMC, the author is discussing how a systematic abuse of a female child turns them into broken, terrified and meek adults who have no sense of self value and are easy to manipulate and (ab)use (even further).
However, I found this to be done clumsily in many places (e.g. some of her mental issues, the FMC majorly resolves through a fever dream sequence).

And that is actually probably my biggest complain about this book in general - while I like many parts of it, majority of them I truly found to be clumsily done.

The MMC is your standard run of the mill high fae lord LI and therefore, quite forgettable.

Even with the narrators I had mixed feelings for. The narrator of the FMC, Mary Hildebrandt, was awesome in some scenes, while made the heroine way too whiny in other (even more than the author made her in many instances) and the narrator for the LI, Ryan Haugen, I just found to be too much for my personal taste.

I'm conflicted about this one
