She stepped into nothing...

A woman's body found at the base of a cliff. Her identity unknown. Sheriff Dave Trask investigates but has nothing to tell him how or why she went over the cliff or who she is. And then, a month later, another woman is found dead in the same location. This time a park ranger familiar with the area. Trask suspects a link between the deaths but can find nothing. The second woman's boyfriend disappears, and the investigation into the deaths drags. Were they accidents - or murder?

Trask's fears and frustrations mount until he sees no option but to do something he thought he'd never do, putting his wife and daughter in danger.

Readers of Sanford, Connelly, Patterson, and alike will enjoy this gripping and fast-paced murder mystery detective thriller.

ME is not "me" (medical examiner) and IV isn't "four" (intravenous) voice very mundane. Story was good though.

This series is pretty good and an interesting police drama. I don’t mind the virtual voice. Even though it doesn’t fluctuate between voices of the different characters it does imitate the feelings and exclamations. The only thing I really don’t like is they don’t let you know the order in which they were written. So far I have listened to three in the series and they’ve all been at different points and all the characters lives, I would like to be able to follow them from the beginning of the series

The characters and their jobs

Inflections were off, to many pronunciation errors, pauses were all wrong, no actual emotions. I will not be listening to another virtual voice read book.

First read from this author. Lots of well described action. Virtual voice was better than expected.

“Read” through most of this in one mostly sleepless night

I was getting confused for how Adele Boucher was being pronounced. At the beginning it was in the french version then during the middle of the story it was pronounced BouCher ( like voucher) then other times with Adele’s parents their name was even different. Besides that it was a good story.
