The book itself was not written to its potential. That being said the narrators on this were dreadful. They’re clearly not “voice actors”. I think anyone reads with inflections or emphasis on certain words. These narrators did neither. It was like being read to by the original Siri. Not a good audible experience.

Monotone emotionless narration

The story line has the making of a good read, unfortunately I only made it to chapter 7. The lack of emotion in the narration made the audio version difficult for me to embrace Ava and Cage as a couple. I may try to switch to a traditional read and give it another shot.
