Get ready for a pulse-pounding thriller from the USA Today bestselling author that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last word. In Canvas of Deception, Levi Yoder, a mafia fixer with a knack for getting things done, finds himself caught in a web of deceit and danger.

When a mob boss enlists Levi's help to track down a forger who duped him with a forged artwork, Levi reluctantly agrees. But when the FBI approaches him with a proposition to crack a money laundering scheme involving art forgery, Levi's world spirals into chaos.

At the heart of the criminal network is a mysterious figure known only as The Maestro, a ghostly presence whose true identity remains shrouded in secrecy. Levi's quest for answers leads him to unexpected places, including Fort Detrick, a notorious hub for infectious disease weapons research.

As Levi delves deeper into the twisted machinations of The Maestro, innocent lives hang in the balance. With the body count rising and danger lurking around every corner, Levi must use all his cunning and skill to outwit an opponent who is as elusive as he is deadly.

Prepare yourself for a gripping ride through the shadowy underworld of crime and deception in Canvas of Deception.

I like the Levi Yoder series but this one was disappointing. The book just ended without finishing. Kind of bland.

Disappointing

there is a little bit of repetition of tropes from earlier books and aome of the cliche phrases like" straight out of central casting" need to die an unmourned death. i would have appreciated a better segueway to explain the backstory on the daughter rather than just here is the "next" levi yoder novel. there is clearly a whole other series which should be read to be up to date

The story works on every level. The characters, plot twists and story building are excellent.
The only problem is the timeline. I was not aware that the book had small spoilers for the Alicia Yoder series and placed after the 4 books in 5he timeline, Yoder-verse. I am happy that the spoilers are minor at most. But I would've liked to know beforehand, so I could read both series in the right order.

Excellent writing, style, presentation

M. A. Rothman's books in the thriller genre never disappoint. Tim Campbell does an excellent job of narration and he does Alicia Yoder pretty well, which is a plus for a male actor. The action builds quickly and the plot is tight. I also always enjoy Mike Rothman's tech explanations at the end of the book. I have read and or listened to many of his novels, they are all great. The listener may be surprised that there is a excerpt from Metaverse at the end of the recording but stay tuned for M. A. Rothman's comments and science reveals at the end. He is well versed in technology and science and it shows. I also enjoy his character of Benny from the "Levi Yoder Universe", he of course is the tech wiz that all modern thriller heroes need. Well Done to author and narrator! Mike Rothman, if you happen to read this review - more Levi and Alicia team-ups, please.
