Wow, when I first started this book I was unsure as to how it would play out - but I actually really loved it! I love how Vanessa ‘Captivates’ you through her book and how she’s written out the information and techniques in a way for us to understand while keeping me entertained, I found my self laughing a loud a lot! I gave this book a normal listen but wasn’t able to make notes or write much down as I listened to this at work, I am going to take what I’ve learn for now and use that in my world, the useful little things I have take so far is already working! I will in the future listen to this book again with more intent and motive in order to improve myself and stay curious - thank you Vanessa, you’ve made me a little less awkward and a little more interested in other people!

Vanessa Van Edwards cleverly introduces herself as a “recovering awkward person”...

Shes used science to understand people and in this book she clearly lays out exactly how to use the best strategies for connecting with people, influencing them and building lasting relationships. It’s perfect for you if you struggle or felt uncomfortable in social situations.

So why am I listening to it... I’m a naturally outgoing and confident person. I always thrived in social settings. My wife says; “the bigger the crowd, the brighter I shine!” I’m a sales mentor, marketing strategist and public speaker. I know people and intuitively understand how to connect and influence.

So why am I reading this... in her charming way, Vanessa has helped me decode what I do naturally. Understanding the latest science behind relationships and connection has taken me to deeper levels of conscious competence. This has empowered me to improve relationships with my client & team as well as with my family & friends.

I’m so grateful to have found Captivate snd I’m having so much fun practicing Vanessa’s ‘hacks’ and using them for good :)
