When you've got nothing left, why not risk it all?

They say life in the Coalition is idyllic, utopian. Tell that to Caspian Robeaux, who was tried, convicted, and thrown in prison. When an early chance for parole comes up, it seems his luck may have changed, though something isn't quite right about where they're sending him. And he might just have to take the biggest chance of his life if he wants to survive.

Caspian's Gambit is the prequel story to the Infinity's End series. This story takes place four years before the events of Caspian's Fortune but can be listened to during any point in the series.

Set years before Caspian's Fortune, we find Cas serving out his prison term; all seems going fine until he is granted parole. Something's not right about it and Caspian wants answers; when he gets to Kathora- a deadly mining world certain parolees are sent to, he's thrown into even deeper mysteries he knows the Coalition are aware of. When something strange happens to the only other human convict, he launches himself into getting the truth, and even more desperate to find a way to freedom as reality rolls in. This may be a short story but it delivers you into all kinds of adventure, corruption and creative aliens that anyone who enjoys a fast space opera, this a sure book to have and listen to. Narrated beautifully by Larry Gorman, comes a great way in getting introduced to Eric Warren's work. Highly recommended.
