Not always the biggest fan of the miscommunication trope, but this one had me giggling and enjoying how much Bael and his friends cared about Wren.
I adored the characters and writing style of how they kept breaking the 4th wall. And hello, Bael and Wren (and the whole cast of side characters) were amazing.

ETA- just listened to the audiobook and loved seeing the characters again.

Composed at Randy's is the first book of Zile Elliven's I've read. It is part of the multi author standalone Diner Days series.

I picked this novel because I enjoy stories of all kinds of people, particularily those who have interesting life experiences to explore. While I liked the characters in Composed at Randy's, I wasn't as big a fan of how Elliven presented them. This one didn't really work for me but loads of folks gave it five stars so don't let me sway you from trying this book.

Another reason I picked Composed at Randy's was because the audio version is performed by Zachary Zaba who delivers a satisfactory performance.
