Ward and Leandrea must survive the fallout of their rebellion in this riveting second book in the Multi-Award-Winning ReInception Trilogy by Sarena Straus
Using ReInception to rid society of unwanted human behaviors seemed like a noble cause, but thanks to Ward and Leandrea and their high-profile rebellion, the world was about to find out the brutal truth.
Powerful political and corporate interests want ReInception to continue, expanding the procedure to prisoners, social dissidents and, most of all, the serving class known as the Prole. They will stop at nothing to keep the truth about ReInception hidden.
With the country’s fate at stake, Ward is being held hostage and Leandrea is on the run. Anyone might be a friend. Any friend could be an enemy. Who can be trusted when, at any moment, ReInception can change their minds forever?
DeInception, the newest novel of the ReInception trilogy, is a fast-paced, futuristic adventure that examines what happens when a divided society is willing to fight each other to survive.

The world building is why I rated this book a 5, I won’t be forgetting this setting anytime soon. I loved learning about this environment from the in-depth view of the characters.
Loved the dual narration and felt both narrators did well providing emotion and life to the characters.

The writing is once again completely immersive and vividly crafted. The world building continues along an inventive pathway with a gripping plot and highly memorable landscape. The ideas within this novel expanded upon systems of control and high tech innovation with a plot, as well as the history that led down this path.
Politics and corporate interests came to the forefront of conversation on both sides of this story. How big tech can be allowed to innovate without transparent oversight and how the authority blatantly abuses power in the name of stability and economic power was a theme that expanded into multiple governing bodies. Creating a perfect society requires a select group to decide on desirable characteristics and ideals, while others are left to pay the price. In this sequel, we were given two possible utopias both of which hide dark desires and manipulative control. It illustrated that the intent does not negate the perils of stifling freedom and that all will eventually crave power above ethics as the lesser of two evils. The whole premise of this series terrified me in its foundation in reality.
This novel was told through dual POVs, which enhanced character developed and gave the plot and history new legs. It was entertaining and the increased number of conspiracies and power players only made for a more dangerous chessboard where trust was a precious commodity. I enjoyed the new sci-fi inventions on the floating colony and that the cast grew with minor characters getting a voice and larger part to play as the story continues. There were also some big reveals and a cliff hanger that has me so excited for book three. This continues to be an inventive and utterly addictive series along the lines of Orwell and Atwood that I simply devoured.
Thank you to ripped.pages.llc and author Sarena Straus for sending me a copy of this book and audiobook.
🎧 Arielle DeLisle continued as the voice of Lea, while Sean Patrick Hopkins entered as Ward. Both narrators did a brillant job with pacing, accents and creating tension throughout the novel. The story itself is fast-paced and imaginative with the narrators matching the style and tone of the novel perfectly. I did a tandem read for my first pass, but will certainly be revisiting this audiobook with book three on the horizon.

Ward might not be who he appears to be, but he's still a good person with good intentions. Or maybe that's not quite the truth either. Regardless, with Leandrea's help, he might finally be able to stop even worse things from happening. He never meant for her to be involved, but now there is no one he'd rather have by his side as they take on the injustices of the world they live in.
Who to trust is now the biggest question. With both of them risking it all it's hard to say how they will make it to a place where they are safe enough to reveal all they've learned.
This book was just as fast paced as book one. Maybe even more so. When I got to the end I literally wanted to yell NOOOOOO! Knowing book 3 is in the process of being written I only have one thing to say to the author. WRITE FASTER PLEASE! I gave this book 5 stars on Goodreads. Can not wait for book 3!
Amazing story and excellent Narrators!
