At first it appeared to be a normal sickness, but when the bodies began to drop, the nightmare rose.

When a video goes viral of a man's dead son walking around, people begin to speculate. These speculations only continue to grow as a new virus sweeps its way across the East Coast, killing thousands. It soon appears that someone is trying to contain this disease, snatching almost every infected body during the night. As the government steps in, the people become aware that they are under attack from something much worse than a virus. Now they must ban together and fight for their lives against the creatures of the night.

Filled with suspense, fright, and action, Dead by Dawn is sure to be one of the best vampire fiction novels of the year. One of the greatest vampire plagues that you're not going to want to miss!

Any additional comments?

Little bit different than many of post apocalyptic illness scenarios that I have read recently. Vampires instead of zombies.

While I really like the concept I was disappointed in the story. It had much more potential but fell short.
The writing could use some improvement it just seems choppy with short non descriptive sentences.

The story starts off slow and takes a bit to get interesting. Trying to outwit and survive vampires of coarse it's going to get interesting. These are the classic vampires, fast, hate sunlight, have to be invited in kind of guys. Overall an entertaining story.

This is the first time I have listened to Joe Messina narrate a story. While he has a nice voice his narration was just flat and dry. The emotions of the characters don't always come through. A little more enthusiasm is needed. He does have some good character voices. Narration does not always flow smoothly, to fast at times, repeated words or awkward pauses here and there. He is not the worst narrator I have heard. With a little more experience he could be a really good narrator.

Background/static noise in the prologue. Chapter 35 repeated line about 7min in.

The second half of the book was too rushed and fell flat unfortunately. However, it overall was an interesting take on vampire lore.

Not bad

I own the Kindle version of this book and thought I'd enjoy the Audible version. The narrator is stilted, changes mid-chapter, and the voices are bad. He'd have done a better job to just read it straight, no inflections. Also, I'm not sure where this was recorded but at one point you hear a car honk in the background. Read the book, skip the audiobook.

Good Book, Terrible Narrator
