Life in Oakhaven has settled into a damp, humid routine. It's been raining for forty days, the high school plumbing is acting possessed, and the new swimming coach, Marina, is suspiciously perfect. She's gorgeous, she's charismatic, and she has the entire PTA obsessed with "hydration."

Becca is the only one who notices that the town isn't just getting wet—it's getting weird. The neighbors are sleepwalking into the lake, the basement is flooding with salt water, and her teenage daughter, Chloe, has started growing scales in the shower.

When Becca discovers that Marina is actually an ancient Mesopotamian sea deity bent on turning the suburbs into a new Atlantis, she has to act fast. But fighting a water goddess is tricky when you're a vampire who sinks like a stone.

Teaming up with Dan Miller—the retired vampire hunter who is slowly becoming more "boyfriend" and less "nemesis"—Becca has to dry out the town, win the election, and save her daughter from a watery grave.
