I LOVED this one! It has all the great elements that a good paranormal desire! I missed book 1 in the series and now have the desire to grab it and see everything that eent down in that book. In here we have humans, vampires, and wearwolves as well as some Far and a demon or two. The storyline is active with humor, action and suspense. It easily kept my interest and I was sad when it was over (especially with that ending). I simply adore the world this author gas built and look forward to more. Phillipa Miller does a great job on the narration.

This is my first read by this author and I came in on a ‘book 2’ in the series at that. I didn’t particularly feel like I was missing anything, this was enjoyable on its own, drawing me in right away.

Written in third person POV.
Past tense.


Off the bat, I noticed I really enjoyed the ‘slice of life’ for just people that aren’t ‘only’ human—the day-to-day can be really fun if the world-building is done right, and it was.

Urban fantasy.
Mysteries.
Supernatural ‘cops’.
‘Police’ procedural.
Werewolves.
Vampires.
World-building.
Fae.
Fated mates.
Reapers.
Supernatural species war.


Overall:
Lots of banter, cozy mystery vibes, fated mates and dating mixed in, mysteries everywhere—honestly, what’s not to like here? This was super cute. Not sure I need to read on in this series, but def would explore more by this author.
