The word “Apologetics” refers to giving answers for the truth of the Christian faith and message of the Bible. The word comes from the Greek word “apologia” which means “to give a defense”. 1 Peter 3:15 tells us to be ready to give an answer (apologia) to anyone who asks the reason for the hope we have. Because of secular scientists' misinterpretations of evidence based on their presuppositions from a humanistic worldview, many in the church believe the scientific evidence shows "millions of years", so they think the Bible needs to “fit” that evidence. They believe man’s ideas more than they believe God’s Word and are therefore dangerously undermining its authority, eventually leading to a lack of trust in that very Word. The truth is, scientific evidence does NOT show millions of years but confirms that God's Word can be fully trusted from Genesis to Revelation. As a matter of fact, no scientific evidence has ever contradicted anything in God’s Word, the Bible. My hope is that these Articles of Apologetics will help you to have the basic answers you will need in answering some of the common questions, arguments, criticisms, objections and misconceptions pertaining to the Bible and our Christian faith, such as: Is the earth old or young? Why does it matter? Was the flood of Noah’s day local or global? Why do some people think the Bible teaches the earth is flat? How can we know the Bible is the inerrant Word of God? Is “interracial” marriage forbidden in the Bible? Does the Bible teach that God is Three Persons in One? How do we share the Gospel? Where do we start? Can we know for certain that we are going to heaven? Why is it important for the church to teach apologetics? Each article includes a list of resources to give you the opportunity to dig much deeper into the topics covered. I hope they will also help you to gain a much deeper appreciation for God’s Word and for God’s world which He created.
