The book is great but the narrators made the book so boring. I couldn't listen to it.

I love the story but did not care for the voices. I want them to be sexy just like the characters.

I loved the story and the male narrator! Jamal did an incredible job bringing the characters to life! I loved how he portrayed all of the male roles! He was hilarious as Menace! The female narrator definitely took away from the overall story. She made Stevie's voice sound like an old snooty white woman. There were periods that she made Navy sound like a child. I'm shocked her performance was so poor because she's not new to the game; she's a seasoned narrator. Jah did her thang though with this book! I loved lover boy Don and was happy to see Menace sprinkled in because that's my baby!

The female narrator really did this book an injustice. The male narrator was good but you needed one of the best to balance out where the female narrator fell short. The story, character development (including Menace's growth), and ending were all wonderful. TBH, I almost stopped halfway through the 1st female led chapter but because the 1st book in this series is one of my absolute favorite books in this genre, I knew the story would make tolerating the narration worth it and it was.

Book #2 completely drew me in…I love the Caselli family even more!! Their love, their complexity, their chaos 🥹 ugh it’s just too good! I did enjoy how this book leaned more into emotions and relationships more than being crime focused. Jahquel definitely delivered on the perfect amount of spiciness…if not more than book #1 🤭
Already counting down to December 30th for Book #3!
