Tom and his Mark Twain impersonator friend Earl are together again. They are on a mission to experience life where Living with Earl left off. Their connection, while deeper since their brief separation, has a sometimes temporary feel to it, at least as the story begins to unfold. Their exploits and revelations captivate each of them in ways neither could have imagined.

Whether laughing or crying throughout their exciting ride, they are emotionally lashed together in ways that perfectly fit their unlikely history. As their time together expands, it becomes clear to both of them that there are secrets that need to be revealed, but who will be the first to volunteer or discover the truth?

Having now read and listened to both of Mr. Lambert's novels about Tom and his enigmatic friend, Earl (aka Mark Twain), I find that, in "Dying with Earl," I was always eagerly awaiting the characters' interactions, their sometimes poignant conversations and their many humorous anecdotes and observations. It seems that each part of their cross-country venture brings them new surprises that are often personal and sometimes even cathartic. This reader finds that Dying with Earl isn't really about dying at all, but rather it's an enjoyable model for more fully appreciating what life we have been given. Throughout, Dying with Earl is an entertaining read that is very well presented. Thanks Tom Lambert. I'm looking forward to Part III!
